Lead Data Scientist/Founding ML Engineer (m/f/d)

The Lead Data Scientist/Founding ML Engineer will build and then lead a team of tech experts at a highly innovative legal tech start-up. He/she/they will be responsible for developing new products and refining existing ones within the company's suite of products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Building and heading a team of top-tier tech talent
• Developing and enhancing LegalAI's tech products
• Addressing complex engineering challenges to advance AI infrastructure for the legal industry
• End-to-end development of epic product features as part of a Scrum team
• Collectively establish a set of standards and conventions to streamline the development process
• Evaluate new technology and propose solutions that take into account both business and technical challenges
• Set up the foundations to scale the technology and the team at a high iteration speed
• Help shape the team from the ground up

• Masters in mathematics, physics, computer science, or related field with a quantitative focus
• 3+ years of professional experience in the field of ML, NLP engineering
• 2+ years of experience in programming, preferably Python
• Experience working with Linux systems and CLI
• Knowledge of version control systems (BitBucket, GitLab, etc.)
• Practical proficiency in popular database systems and storage technologies
• Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment; start-up experience is preferred
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and a solution-oriented mindset
• Drive, enthusiasm, and a passion for developing cutting-edge AI solutions
• Professional fluency in English; proficiency also in German preferred
