The Director of Engineering will oversee multiple engineering teams working on management and optimization problems related to capacity allocation and pricing in the context of a digital freight forwarder. They will be a key member of the Engineering leadership team, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals and deliver innovative solutions to our customers. This role requires a leader who can build and manage a high-performing engineering team, foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, and communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
act as a manager of managers, lead multiple engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration
collaborate with the leadership team to align engineering initiatives with business goals
ensure the timely and successful delivery of high-quality products and features
manage your teams through the entire software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment
drive the implementation of best practices in software engineering, including coding standards, testing, and deployment
recruit, retain, and grow strong engineering talent
maintain a deep understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform the product roadmap
establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and vendors
collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of initiatives
multiple years of experience in a technical profession, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
proven track record of delivering high-quality software products on time and on budget
strong understanding of software development best practices, including Agile methodologies, DevOps, and continuous delivery
experience with cloud-based architectures, microservices, and distributed systems
excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
experience in a fast growing B2B environment is preferred
