    Your role

     

    The Director of Engineering will oversee multiple engineering teams working on management and optimization problems related to capacity allocation and pricing in the context of a digital freight forwarder. They will be a key member of the Engineering leadership team, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals and deliver innovative solutions to our customers. This role requires a leader who can build and manage a high-performing engineering team, foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, and communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.

     

    You will

     

    • act as a manager of managers, lead multiple engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration
    • collaborate with the leadership team to align engineering initiatives with business goals
    • ensure the timely and successful delivery of high-quality products and features
    • manage your teams through the entire software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment
    • drive the implementation of best practices in software engineering, including coding standards, testing, and deployment
    • recruit, retain, and grow strong engineering talent 
    • maintain a deep understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform the product roadmap
    • establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and vendors
    • collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of initiatives



    You bring

     

    • multiple years of experience in a technical profession, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
    • proven track record of delivering high-quality software products on time and on budget
    • strong understanding of software development best practices, including Agile methodologies, DevOps, and continuous delivery
    • experience with cloud-based architectures, microservices, and distributed systems
    • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
    • strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
    • experience in a fast growing B2B environment is preferred
