Tasks
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior QA Engineer with at least 1 year of experience in automation testing to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about Quality Assurance (QA) and eager to contribute to the development of high-quality software products. The ideal candidate will have experience with our tech stack, including GitHub, Playwright, JIRA, and Slack, and a strong foundation in both manual and automated testing. Experience with AWS is a strong bonus.
Key responsibilities
- Manual testing: Conduct thorough manual testing to identify bugs, validate features, and ensure the overall quality of our software products.
- Test automation: Assist in the creation, execution, and maintenance of automated tests using Playwright. Collaborate with the team to increase test coverage and improve test efficiency.
- Test case documentation: Help document detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases. Ensure that test cases are maintained and updated as the product evolves.
- Bug reporting: Identify, document, and track software defects using JIRA. Work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Collaboration: Work with the development team on GitHub to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline. Communicate effectively using Slack and participate in team meetings.
- Continuous improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and tools in QA and automation. Contribute to the improvement of QA processes within the team.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in test automation, preferably with Playwright and Cypress.
- Technical skills: Proficient in using GitHub for version control and JIRA for issue tracking. Solid understanding of programming and scripting languages, particularly JavaScript or Python. Experience with TypeScript is highly preferred. Experience in AWS for cloud services is a big plus.
- Manual testing: Strong skills in manual testing, with the ability to identify edge cases and think critically about software behavior.
- Attention to detail: Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Passion for QA: Demonstrated passion for quality assurance and a strong desire to grow in the field.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly document and explain issues.
- Team player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment, leveraging tools like Slack for communication.
Additionally:
- Languages: Candidates must be fluent in English.
- Location: Strong preference for candidates to work from our Berlin office, spending 3 days per week on-site; however, a remote setup can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
